Greta Knutson Tzara
Ginza
In the heyday of modernism, the Swedish artist Greta Knutson (1899-1983) was, along with her husband Tristan Tzara, a respected member of the avant-garde in Paris. Although her exhibitions were favourably reviewed by her contemporaries, Knutson"'s body of work has never been given the attention it deserves. With this timely publication, Martin Sundberg delves into the archives in an attempt to give a more complete picture of the artist"'s life and work. In addition to painting, Knutson was a versatile draughtsman who sought to develop her own approach independently of the earlier trends in sculpting and writing. She was a very prolific artist, whose work is comprehensively presented for the first time in this book. Published in collaboration with Norrköpings Art Museum, Norrköping, Sweden, on the occasion of the exhibition Greta Knutson Tzara - I nytt ljus.
