On the way to Högsby : a book of Småland

”It is tempting to look at the landscape around Högsby as a forgotten part of the country. People have left these forests, industries have waned and withered. But Nature is so strong, so dominant in these parts that there is little point in lamenting that people have had to give up and move on. In fact, we may be thankful that Nature here continues to reveal her mysteries to us. The forests around beautiful Lake Allgunnen tell stories of human limits – just as cities and suburban shopping center
