Albumet är inspelat i Chicago, London, Prague, Los Angeles och New York och är mixat av Kevin Killen (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush m.fl). Albumet är producerat av Gerry Leonard som har arbetat med David Bowie i över ett årtionde. Med sig i studion hade hon även bland andra Zachary Alford (David Bowie), Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel), Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan) och Sterling Campbell (David Bowie, B52"'s). På "'Don"'t Uncork What You Can"'t Contain"' passar även Vega på att sampla ur 50 Cents hitlåt "'Candy Shop"'.
