For example in a 1510 tank (one 35mm film) you need 140ml in rotation vs. 250 ml for a standard inversion development. You gain evenness in developer action and you save. But you loose the possibility to control the contrast by changes of the inversion intervals and intensity. So for B&W everyone has to decide which he or she prefers. In color the advantages are clear.
