""A Perfect Contradiction"" är Paloma Faiths tredje album och följer upp ""Fall To Grace"" som släpptes 2012 och sålde dubbel platina. ""A Perfect Contradiction"" innefattar samarbeten med rad legendariska artister, låtskrivare och producenter som John Legend, Diane Warren, Plan B, Stewart Matthewman, Raphael Saadiq och Pharrell Williams. Albumet ""A Perfect Contradiction"" markerar en förändring i Palomas sound. Hon berättar: ""Its tone is the very opposite of what the last album was. There are a couple of melancholy moments, sure, but it"'s much more a "'if it"'s all gone to shit, fuck it, let"'s have a dance"' kind of record."" Paloma Faith skrev en stor del av materialet till ""A Perfect Contradiction"" då hon bodde i New York 2013. Inspelningarna av albumet har skett i Miami, Los Angeles, London och New York. Paloma har inspirerats av bland annat Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, The Fugees och N.E.R.D. Tongivande för nya albumet är Candi Stations klassiker ""Young Hearts Run Free"" - en låt där texten kommunicerar sorg men framförandet ändå förmedlar att allt är möjligt.
