Midnight Sun Over Swedish Lapland
Ginza
""Midnight sun over Swedish Lapland"" is a beautifully illustrated photobook. Magnificent pictures of animals, nature and Sami culture are interspersed with poetic poems and factual texts of Lapland. The book reflects the life in Lapland from the last northern lights in early spring to the beautiful autumn colors in September. It is an intense period when the sun refuses to go below the horizon during two months. The book also gives a historical review of Sami culture, Carl Linnaeus"' journey through Lapland to the first navvies who built the ion ore line. The publishers also give their views on how Lapland should be managed for future generations. Photographer Peter Rosen from Abisko / Luleå has previously received much attention for his northern lights images, and in 2012 he published the book ""Aurora Borealis in Lapland"" which became a success. In Rosén"'s new book he welcome you to a world full of light. A Lapland in the midnight sun. The book is nicely dressed in poetry and prose by Lisa C.Q. Holmström from Kiruna.
