Before André Previn made a name for himself as an internationally renowned conductor of symphony orchestras, he was considered one of the most skilled orchestrators, conductors and composers of American popular music - a ""Hollywood-hero"", who played a big part in the golden age of the ""musicals"" of the 1950s and 1960s.
