Taylor James: JT
Ginza
This is James Taylor at his best with great folksy tunes and of course the bluesy ""Traffic Jam"" and one full blown old timey country song ""Bartender Blues,"" a duet with Linda Ronstadt. The album opens with his optimistic ode to love, ""Your Smiling Face,"" which did quite respectively on the pop charts at the time. If you listen to the song ""Terra Nova,"" right to the very end you may recognize Carly Simon"'s distinct vocals ending this track. The closing ""If I Keep My Heart Out of Sight"" is gently melodic and provides a perfect quiet finish. James Taylor won a Grammy for ""Best Male Pop Vocal Performance"" in 1978 for his cover of ""Handy Man"" from his biggest-selling studio album in the U.S. with over 3.5 million copies sold.
